An offbeat Russian-influenced country, Poland has some great potential. Of course the mountains are beautiful and the towns are authentic, but this particular country seems to be more on the scope of partying and letting loose. The nightlife is full of Russians who simply put, know how to party! From all we've researched, not only is the apre-skiing unreal in Poland, but if you hit it right the parties never end. The mixture of cultures here are said to blend so well that you never want to leave. As for the riding, the Tatra Mountains—an offshoot of the Alps—give us some real prospective freeriding. We're definitely looking forward to riding all day and partying all night here in Poland.
There is hardly a better ski town in Poland than Zakopane. Nestled in the heart of the Tatra Mountains, this town's energy is said to be bustling. Here one can access several different resorts as we plan on heading to Kasprowy Wierch. This resort is home to the old-rustic 1930's chair lift that brings you to a freeriding paradise. Judging by the pictures, the surrounding environment is pristine with the best stuff reserved for the adventursome and those willing to do some exploring. The off-piste gullies, cornices, and crazy cliff drops will definitely provide some great riding footage but probably even better wipeouts. With the endless potential here in Zakopane and the bottomless bottles of Vodka, we are sure to have a blast.
